Beyond the Instrument

Beyond the Instrument: A Repertoire Project aims to expand the saxophone repertoire by performing and recording lesser-known arrangements and transcriptions alongside newly commissioned works by composers representing a range of voices, perspectives, and musical approaches. Through collaborative partnerships, the project builds a 21st-century saxophone canon that reflects multiple experiences and artistic viewpoints. Centered on communal and expressive music-making, Beyond the Instrument cultivates performances and recordings that engage broader artistic and cultural conversations, demonstrating the saxophone’s versatility across styles, genres, and compositional approaches.
